Scott Lynch
President & CEO

Scott Lynch was appointed President & CEO of the American Boiler Manufacturers Association (ABMA) in June 2014. Scott oversees the day-to-day operations and partners with the Board of Directors to continually enhance the association and advance the industry.

In 2015, he engaged ABMA’s Board of Directors to set a new strategic direction for the association. This new focus is intended to embrace the rich history of a great organization and chart the course for a strong future.

ABMA was created to focus on a key challenge impacting the boiler industry: safety. Through leadership and cooperation, the industry was able to make significant advances in safety, saving lives and increasing productivity. Today’s boiler industry remains focused on safety but the industry has evolved with new challenges and Lynch sees ABMA as a potential source for industry solutions.

Scott facilitated a strategic meeting with ABMA leaders and followed that with the creation of volunteer working groups around four priority areas: industry promotion, workforce development, advocacy & partnership and finally, knowledge & value. These groups vetted concepts and ideas leading to the adoption of three-year strategy in January 2016.

Under Scott’s leadership, ABMA is setting the course for unprecedented membership value, expanded outreach and significant impact on the boiler industry.

Prior to ABMA, Scott spent 15 years with SmithBucklin, the world’s largest association management company, holding executive positions with the American Bearing Manufacturers Association (ABMA), US Apple Export Council (USAEC) and National Association of Local Housing Finance Agencies (NALHFA).

Scott serves on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) Council of Manufacturing Associations and is a guest columnist for Power Engineering Magazine.
