The ABMA Board of Directors consists of fourteen Principal Representatives from ABMA member companies. Twelve positions are available for Active-member company representatives (boiler/burner OEMs), while twp positions are reserved for the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Associate Members Group, each elected by the Associate Members Group; the Chairman every two years, the Vice Chairman every year.

The Board of Directors meets four times each calendar year and has final approval over all ABMA policy and budget priorities, working with the Association's Product/Market Groups and standing committees to achieve the collective goals of the Association.  An Executive Committee of the Board, consisting of the Chairman of the Board, the Vice Chairman of the Board, the ABMA Secretary/Treasurer and two other members chosen at-large from the Board, serves as a leadership group to govern between meetings of the full Board and works with Association staff to assure normal operating procedures.
